Edward M. Levy, the Director of Critical Infrastructure at NOBLE, is set to emcee and moderate the upcoming Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) NYC Summer Conference. Levy holds membership in both the European and Cybersecurity Committees of OSAC, playing an integral role in the event's planning and organization. The OSAC is a public-private partnership that assists U.S.-incorporated organizations in safeguarding their assets, employees, and operations abroad through threat alerts, analysis, and peer network groups.
Within OSAC, Edward Levy actively contributes to two committees with distinct focuses. As a member of the Europe Regional Committee (ERC), Levy supports information-sharing initiatives to enhance the safety and security of U.S. organizations operating in Europe and Eurasia. The ERC is co-chaired by the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the DS New York Field Office and a representative from the private sector. Additionally, Levy serves on the Cybersecurity Committee (CSC), which aims to promote awareness and preparedness for cybersecurity threats among U.S. private sector organizations operating overseas.
Planning for this event began in 2022 after the cancellation of the June 2020 event due to COVID-19 restrictions. Edward Levy's involvement in the newly formed CSC and his suggestion to combine the committees resulted in him taking on a leadership role to plan, organize, and facilitate the event.
Drawing on his involvement in both the ERC and CSC, Edward Levy proposed combining the strengths and insights of these committees for the OSAC NYC event. This innovative approach aims to facilitate comprehensive discussions on bridging the gap between physical and cybersecurity challenges faced by U.S. organizations operating globally. By merging their expertise, the event aims to equip security leaders with a better understanding of managing a blended cyber-physical security environment.
The OSAC NYC Summer Conference is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York, NY. The event will adopt a hybrid format, accommodating both in-person and virtual attendance.
Attendees of the OSAC NYC Summer Conference can look forward to a lineup of engaging session topics designed to address pertinent security concerns. These sessions will cover subjects such as the updated threat landscape, the significance of collaboration between physical and cybersecurity domains, risk assessment paradoxes, insider risks, the impact of artificial intelligence on cybersecurity, and travel risks beyond the conventional scope.
Edward M. Levy's contributions to OSAC, committee memberships, and leadership in organizing the OSAC NYC Summer Conference reflect his dedication to enhancing the safety and security of U.S. organizations abroad. This aligns with NOBLE's commitment to delivering exceptional expertise, technical knowledge, and advanced equipment for our customers' communication and information-gathering programs.
