Empowering Lives through NOBLE Acts: Stevensville, MD Team Volunteers at Talisman Therapeutic Riding

The Stevensville NOBLE Operations Center team participated in a service project for nearby Talisman Therapeutic Riding on July 21, 2023. This non-profit riding organization is based in Grasonville, Maryland, and is dedicated to providing therapeutic horseback riding programs for individuals with physical, emotional, and cognitive disabilities. This organization utilizes equine-assisted activities to enhance the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of its participants.

Through their specialized programs, Talisman Therapeutic Riding aims to improve physical strength, balance, and coordination, while also fostering emotional and cognitive growth. The interaction with horses can have a profound impact on participants, promoting confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of achievement.

One of these specialized programs Talisman conducts is called the “Heroes on Horses Program” which supports active-duty military, veterans of the armed forces, national guard, first responders, and front-line health care workers through introduction into a stress-free atmosphere and equine-assisted therapeutic events.

Together, the NOBLE Stevensville team painted the run-in sheds, provide the therapy horses with a refreshed shelter to escape the heat and severe weather, and also assisted with landscaping around the Talisman property.

Engaging in local service projects fosters a sense of camaraderie and pride among NOBLE’s team members, as they witness firsthand the meaningful difference they can make in the lives of others, strengthening their bond with the communities we serve.
