# Honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month
— Posted on October 1, 2015

Many know that October is [National Breast Cancer Awareness Month](http://www.speakersfornurses.com/Planning/CancerB.htm). However, some may not know the third Friday in October each year is National Mammography Day. President Clinton first proclaimed this observance in 1993. On this day, and throughout the month, women are encouraged to schedule a mammography appointment.
Many organizations have jumped on board and have developed products featuring the pink ribbon logo in order to raise money for breast cancer research. [Streamlight®](https://blog.noble.com/streamlight-1) is among these organizations committed to finding a cure. Streamlight® launched the Think Pink campaign which features a line of pink products including the ProTac HL®, the Pink Strion®, The Pink Nano Light®, and the Siege® AA Pink.

For every pink light sold, Streamlight, Inc® will donate $1-$5 to [The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®](http://www.bcrfcure.org/about).
By purchasing these products, you are making a difference in the lives of millions. According to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, every 2 minutes, a woman in the U.S. is diagnosed with Breast Cancer. The BCRF has funded 8,657,920 hours of research since 1993 and because of this, there are nearly 3 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S. alone. Since its founding in 1993, BCRF has raised more than half a billion dollars for lifesaving research.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, all throughout October, TSSi will be giving away a free Streamlight Pink Nano Light® with every $50 purchase while supplies last!
