# Fake Adderall Tablets

Recently the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has been reporting seizures of fake Adderall pills. These illegally manufactured pills have been seized from Iowa to the East Coast of the United States with recent seizures in New Hampshire and Boston Massachusetts. These fake Adderall pills are orange in color and marked “30” on one side and “b 974” on the other.
Adderall is federally schedule 2 controlled substance that is used to treat ADHD, narcolepsy, and other medical issues. Real Adderall contains four different types of amphetamine; dextroamphetamine saccharate, amphetamine aspartate, dextroamphetamine sulfate and amphetamine sulfate.
The fake Adderall tablets contain methamphetamine, caffeine and a commercially sold compression binder such as Firmapress. These tablets are manufactured in an illegal pilling operation with pill presses bought off web sites found in the “Dark web” or hidden internet.
Law enforcement has been obtaining positive hits for methamphetamine and caffeine utilizing handheld Raman technology in the [Thermo TruNarc](https://www.federalresources.com/product/thermo-fisher-scientific-trunarc-handheld-narcotics-analyzer/). The TruNarc and its big brother, the [Gemini](https://www.federalresources.com/product/thermo-scientific-gemini-s1/) are handheld detection equipment that are part of the Raman technology sold by Federal Resources.
